       As technology continues to advance in our world today, it serves an important role in solving cases in the criminal justice system. Today's technology allows analysts to compare DNA and fabrics found years ago, which can help point to a suspect in a criminal case or help point police in the right direction. Along with having a database for DNA, there are also databases for facial recognition, dental records, as well as a tattoo database and more. "Law enforcement officials use data for a variety of reasons, such as to obtain evidence and identify crime trends. Fingerprints, DNA, background information and other data are stored in expansive databases that law enforcement official can access to help them in their criminal investigations," (Jacobson, 2022).
